The wine shows characteristics of dark fruit such as plum, blackberry, boysenberry and black currant.
This is the only hybrid grape grown on the William Heritage estate. Many have referred to it as the “East coast red Zinfandel” (not white Zinfandel) due to its soft tannins and dark “jammy” fruit character.
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The majority of the fruit for this wine was sourced from our oldest Chambourcin site known as the Pond Vineyard. This is a cooler vineyard site planted adjacent to a large man- made fishing and irrigation pond on our property. This vineyard is known for developing vibrant acid character in our Estate Chambourcin.
