This is the first time William Heritage has released a non-vintage (NV) Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate. The 2018 vintage was a cooler growing season that yielded a lighter-to-medium bodied red wine with beautiful strawberry and eucalyptus notes. The only thing missing was some of the ripe fruit notes and tannic backbone that coincides with traditional Cabernet Sauvignon. Fortunately for us, we had a tremendously robust Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2019 vintage that could be blended with the more elegant 2018 vintage. By blending the two vintages we are required to label the wine NV.
The result is a Cabernet from our estate that combines the best of both vintages and offers a softer mouthfeel. The winemakers used minimal oak on the cuvée. Elegant and round – this is the perfect Cabernet Sauvignon for causal sipping.
