Aromatics of blueberries and green tea with a touch of boysenberry and lilac. This is a medium bodied red wine with juicy tannins and flavors of dark cherry and blackberry along with notes of cedar and leather with a lengthy finish.
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Yield per acre is approximately 2.5. These particular vineyards feature loamy sand and gravel with a western slope orientation.
Production Notes
William Heritage is one of the few vineyards in New Jersey to grow this unique varietal. Malbec is traditionally known as one of the five primary Bordeaux blending grapes and in most years, all of the Malbec is used in our Estate Reserve BDX. Approximately one in three vintages provides enough fruit from our vineyards to produce a varietal Malbec.
Winemaker Notes
We have found that yes, Malbec is a crucial component in our Bordeaux-style blend (BDX), but we were also pleasantly surprised to see it drink so well on its own.
