Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Much of the soil structure of our Cabernet Franc vineyards is considered to be sandy with little loam and some gravel. In these types of soils, the sand allows for increased water drainage, which stresses the vines and intensifies the intensity of the fruit.
Winemaker Notes
Cabernet Franc has become a prominent grape in the Eastern and Mid Atlantic winegrowing regions. Cabernet Franc in really warm regions tends to be overbearing with aggressive tannins, while cooler regions offer a much more balanced and pleasant flavor profile.
